Kofax Unveils New Release of Its Document Exchange Server Software
Version 2.0 offers enhanced usability and deployment capabilities.
Kofax, an Irvine, Calif., provider of capture and exchange solutions, announced a new release of its Document Exchange Server, a solution that simplifies and accelerates document-driven business process automation by extending back-office capture to front-office environments.
Kofax Document Exchange Server enables an organization’s customer-facing employees to capture documents in the front office where they originate, using multifunction peripherals (MFPs), desktop scanners, and fax machines. As a result, organizations can improve document-centric business processes, speed processing times, reduce operating costs, and enhance customer service.
New features in Document Exchange Server 2.0 support multiple languages, streamline functionality, and improve accuracy as documents are processed. Administration improvements include support for LDAP and Active Directory to ease configuration and improve security. For organizations that use WebLogic application servers and Oracle 10g database software, the release offers greater availability and scalability. The new software also offers the ability to use TWAIN-based document scanners and includes a Web Services SDK to facilitate customized connections from other input sources.
“Kofax Document Exchange Server empowers front-office staff to easily initiate document-driven processes at a desktop scanner or MFP,” says Jim Nicol, executive vice president of products at Kofax. “This results in better, faster, less costly and more accurate document processing and allows employees to focus more time on vital customer-facing activities.”
