SolarWinds MSP Integrates its EDR Solution With its Cloud-Based RMM Platform

The newly established link lets users of SolarWinds Remote Monitoring and Management deploy, administer, and upgrade EDR agents on any Windows device via the same interface they use to perform other administrative tasks.

SolarWinds MSP has integrated its endpoint detection and response solution with SolarWinds Remote Monitoring and Management, the company’s cloud-based RMM platform.

Introduced last May, SolarWinds Endpoint Detection and Response is powered by technology from EDR heavyweight SentinelOne. The newly established link between that system and SolarWinds RMM enables MSPs to deploy, manage, and upgrade EDR agents on any Windows device. Partners can also access the EDR dashboard, view threat management information, and set policy configurations from inside the RMM interface.

“Keeping ahead of cyberthreats requires constant vigilance and fast response. Our partners need security protection beyond traditional antivirus for both their businesses and their customers—especially when workforces are becoming increasingly distributed as work-from-home policies are being adopted across the globe long-term or even permanently in some cases,” said Alex Quilter, vice president of product strategy at SolarWinds MSP, in prepared remarks. “MSPs have to keep users productive while also protecting devices. With integrated EDR and remote monitoring under a single pane of glass, we’re giving them the power and visibility to stay one step ahead of the bad guys so they can help their customers defend against ransomware, zero-day attacks, and the relentless onslaught of shifting online threats.”

Integrating both SolarWinds RMM and the on-premises SolarWinds N-central RMM system with SolarWinds solutions and products from other companies is a priority for SolarWinds MSP at present. In September, for example, the company added access to Microsoft’s Intune endpoint management solution to SolarWinds RMM. Two months later, it rolled out a similar integration that lets technicians support Cisco Meraki routers, switches, and access points from inside N-central dashboards.

Another security solution built atop third-party technology, as SolarWinds Endpoint Detection and Response is, will arrive early next year, according to SolarWinds MSP President John Pagliuca

SolarWinds is currently considering a move to spin-off of SolarWinds MSP as a separate, publicly-trade business. Pagliuca offered an enthusiastic assessment of that transaction during a recent conversation with ChannelPro.
