Power management company Eaton has launched Intelligent Power Managersoftware version 1.53, which offers improved protection for data center IT equipment through integration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) OneView and OpenStack management platform.
With the new integrations, Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager software provides IT professionals with the insight and control they need to manage and mitigate issues such as overheating equipment and power anomalies in order to improve availability of critical resources and maintain business continuity. When issues do arise, the software delivers alerts through HPE iLO and triggers preventive actions, such as power capping, through Eaton’s disaster avoidance portfolio.
“Infrastructure issues such as rack overheating and power loss are major causes of downtime in the data center,” says Paul Miller, vice president of Marketing, Converged Data Center Infrastructure, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. “Integrating Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager software with HPE OneView automates the monitoring process so professionals can make immediate adjustments to their infrastructure using real time data.”
In addition to the HPE OneView integration, Intelligent Power Manager now has capabilities to manage the OpenStack management platform. The software’s updated connector provides capabilities of managing virtual machines, server workloads, and storage volumes, including migration and shutdowns.
