Tech Data today announced that it will offer access to IBM’s Cloud Pak for Security platform as part of its Cyber Range – a virtual environment for training and testing security response procedures.

Introduced to help organizations as they move more workloads to the cloud, IBM Cloud Pak for Security can help integrate a company’s existing security tools to offer deeper insights into threats across hybrid multi-cloud environments and orchestrate automated responses without moving the underlying data, using an infrastructure-independent common operating environment.
The Tech Data Cyber Range can demonstrate IBM Cloud Pak for Security’s ability to integrate with a host of vendor technologies and provide hands-on training to help companies invest in solutions to mitigate the risk of cyber threats.
“Nearly half of those surveyed in the 2019 Cyber Resilient Organization’s fourth annual benchmark study said their organization deploys too many disparate security tools, which ultimately adds complexity to the business and reduces visibility into overall security posture. Another 77% indicated that they don’t have an enterprise-wide cybersecurity incident response plan in place,” said Nick Lisle, director, North America Security Business Partners, IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software. “The IBM Cloud Pak for Security is designed to address this challenge by coordinating and operationalizing data investigation, threat detection and incident response. We are pleased to partner with Tech Data to make this innovative platform available to the distributor’s vast partner ecosystem.”
The Tech Data Cyber Range, which opened in November 2019 and is the first of its kind in IT distribution, simulates real-world situations that can help Tech Data channel partners and their end users protect against, detect and respond to cybersecurity threats, as well as allow users to test and apply many of the latest security technologies.
“With access to many tools, the need to manage increasing amounts of data and a growing cybersecurity skills gap, organizations of all sizes are facing significant challenges on their journey to the cloud,” said Trisha Cooke, vice president, vendor solutions, Tech Data. “The addition of IBM Cloud Pak for Security strengthens our cyber range by enabling our partners to interact with an integrated security solution and understand how it will behave in their own data environments.”
