Tandberg’s Callway Services Are Up and Running
Company calls its new subscription-based, Web-based hosted service for high-definition video and voice communications a “low-cost option for SMBs.”
Tandberg announced a low-cost video and communications hosted services option this week.
Callway is the company’s subscription-based hosted service for high-definition video and voice communications across the Internet. Initially available in the U.S., Callway is designed for businesses interested in video deployments of 10 or fewer endpoints.
Tandberg president, Americas Commercial, Larry Satterfield says video communication is becoming more pervasive, making access to high-definition video capabilities increasingly critical. “With Callway, we’re simplifying access to video collaboration for companies in need of small-scale deployments. The service provides an intuitive user experience, is easy to set up with simple plug-and-play connectivity, and leverages the customer’s existing broadband.”
Purchasing a Callway subscription works much like purchasing a mobile phone subscription. Customers work with a Tandberg Partner to select preferred video endpoints. Then, the Partner activates the service, which automatically supplies the customer with a local phone number for each system.
At that point, the customer can immediately begin making video and voice calls to any other Callway subscriber, any other standards-based video conferencing and telepresence system provisioned for external calling, and/or any domestic landline or cell phone.
“Callway enables us to provide a flexible video conferencing solution that delivers industry leading service and products to a customer base that has previously not been served,” said
Endpoints currently available through Callway include:

- TANDBERG Profile 42-Inch with Codec C20–Fully integrated high-definition video system
- TANDBERG QuickSet C20Plus–Plug-and-play video set-top designed for SMBs
