Quest Software Introduces vFoglight 6.5
Latest version of the virtualization monitoring and capacity planning solution supports Microsoft Hyper-V.
Quest Software Inc.’s virtualization monitoring and capacity planning solution, vFoglight, now supports Microsoft Hyper-V. Moreover, the latest version of vFoglight, version 6.5, increases the level of automation provided for virtual infrastructures.
The Quest Software is demonstrating the new features of vFoglight in its booth at VMworld in San Francisco this week.
The Q4 release of vFoglight 6.5 also brings support of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.†
“As infrastructures become increasingly complex, and critical applications are run on virtual and cloud infrastructure, IT teams are increasingly challenged to manage and control their environment,” states a recent Quest Software press release submitted to EH Publishing. “vFoglight answers a critical need for a single tool to manage the virtual layer and provide visibility ‘up the stack’ into the infrastructure and applications running in that environment.”
†Features of vFoglight 6.5 include:
- Extended Hypervisor Support–Ability to manage multiple hypervisor platforms, including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Event Remediation–Administrators can view alarms and speed mean-time-to-resolution for problems by launching workflows to automate resolution
- User Perspectives–Tailored views for performance monitoring, capacity planning, chargeback, and more
- Enhanced FAQts–Factual information about the dynamic infrastructure
Carl Eberling, Quest’s vice president and general manager, says the latest version of vFoglight provides SMBs with greater application visibility, added administrative control, and support across multiple hypervisor platforms. “We are helping to simplify virtualization management and reduce operational costs,” he says.
