ROAMpay Enables In-the-Field Sage Payment Solutions Users
Sage and ROAM Data partner to bring integrated mobile payment innovations to SMBs. Customers will be able to accept credit and debit cards via mobile device.
Sage Payment Solutions, a division of Sage North America, along with ROAM Data, a mobile commerce solutions provider, announced a partnership to bring to market what the two companies are calling “an integrated mobile payments offering for SMBs.”
Through the partnership, Sage Payment Solutions customers will be able to accept credit and debit cards on hundreds of different types of mobile phones and other mobile computing devices–including Apple’s iPhone and iPad, Motorola’s DROID, and Research in Motion’s BlackBerry–across all major wireless carriers.
ROAMpay is a mobile payment application from ROAM Data. It is now being integrated with Sage Exchange, Sage’s payment application data security standard (PA-DSS) certified payments platform. ROAM Data is also PS-DSS certified.
“Using ROAMpay, all customer data is encrypted before it leaves a customer’s cell phone,” states a Sage Payments press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB. “No personal data is retained on the phone or mobile computing device. In short, ROAMpay turns ordinary cell phones, tablets, and PCs into secure Point of Transaction devices.”
Using ROAMpay, Sage customers will be able to:
- Process credit and debit card orders with real-time authorization
- Use a secure card reader for card-present transaction rates
- Log cash orders
- Download reports
- Email receipts to customers
- Change applications and add features to mobile apps
- Integrate with Sage accounting or ERP solutions
ROAM Data CEO Will Graylin says the integration of ROAMpay with Sage products will provide SMBs “the tools they need to compete.”
“We’re proud to enhance their offerings with our secure mobile commerce solution,” Graylin adds. “It lets Sage customers do business wherever and whenever, with their mobile phones, tablets, or PCs.”
