The disk-to-disk data protection products are ready for deployment in VMware’s virtualization platform.
Unified virtual storage and SAN storage manufacturer Dot Hill Systems Corp. has announced its AssuredSAN 3000 Series storage arrays to have been certified for use with VMware vSphere 5.0.
The VMware vSphere virtualization platform enables SMBs to run business-critical applications in a virtualized environment. By passing the extensive testing of the VMware hardware certification program, Dot Hill says its AssuredSAN 3000 Series are “ready for deployment” in such environments.

Dot Hill’s AssuredSAN storage solutions are designed to help SMBs meet storage and data protection demands amid growing needs for flexibility and scalability. The 3000 Series stores up to 288 TB per SAN system. It supports mixed SAS, SATA, and SSD drive options, and includes high availability features, including dual redundant controllers, fans, and power supplies.
The AssuredSAN 3000 Series of disk-to-disk data protection products combines the company’s storage capabilities with enhanced data protection software features, like AssuredRemote data management software for remote replication, AssuredCopy volume copy technology, and AssuredSnap snapshot capabilities.
AssuredSAN storage solutions incorporate a number of eco-friendly, including a drive-spin-down capability and 595-watt 80 PLUS-rated power supplies for reduced operating costs. Additionally, the arrays feature Dot Hill’s patented EcoStor “green” battery-free alternative for cache memory.
