Veeam Software, a VMware data protection and management provider, has released a new version of the Veeam nworks Management Pack for VMware. The 5.7 version of nworks Management Pack provides VMware infrastructure monitoring and management directly in Microsoft System Center.
Providing scalable, fault-tolerant, and agentless monitoring and management, this new version of nworks Management Pack offers a comprehensive view of their IT infrastructures. Integration is available for both Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Virtual Machine Manager, enabling organizations to manage applications, physical systems, and both Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere virtual environments from System Center.
Version 5.7 includes:
- Support for VMware vSphere 5.0: The nworks Management Pack monitors more than 160 metrics and 500 events, including new metrics and events introduced in vSphere 5.0 and a new derived metric unique to Veeam. DiskPressure analyzes storage configuration and warns of over allocation. Version 5.7 also offers hardware monitoring data gathered from ESX(i) hosts.
- New reporting capabilities, including 25 new and rewritten out-of-the-box reports: The nworks Management Pack also provides a new report on oversized virtual machines, as well as offering more than 20 new views and dashboards for host storage, host networking, datastore provisioning, hardware, and more.
- Enhanced VMware environment support, regardless of size: vSphere clusters of any size can be monitored at the most granular level.
