IT membership organization The ASCII Group Inc. has wrapped up the third of its nine IT Success Summits for 2017.
Staged in Boston on April 26 and 27, the conference featured a keynote appearance by Frank Abagnale, the legendary teenage con artist played by Leonardo DiCaprio in director Steven Spielberg’s 2002 film Catch Me If You Can.
Abagnale has since become one of the world’s most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement, and document protection. His presentation paired a vivid recounting of his exploits as a phony airline pilot, doctor, and lawyer with a sobering, advice-filled discussion of security risks and mitigation strategies.
Other presenters included Frank DeBenedetto, president and chief technology advisor at Holmdel, N.J.-based MSP Two River Technology Group LLC and CEO of audIT Sales Presentation System, a vendor of cloud and managed service sales tools; Herman Pool, president of IT marketing agency Vertical Axion and author of One Hour Marketing: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Simple Effective Marketing; and George Sierchio, vice president of M&A advisory firm Cogent Growth Partners LLC, on metrics that matter when buying or selling a technology business.
Vendors including Cytracom, Datto, Data Deposit Box, IT Glue, Pax8, and Webroot spoke as well. Attendees then voted on their favorite presentations in a range of categories. Here are their selections:
