What MSPs Need to Know About ThreatLocker’s Latest Innovations

For MSPs, these updates provide stronger, more streamlined security solutions that minimize risk and reduce operational overhead.

MSPs take note: Zero Trust security is evolving again, thanks, in part to the latest innovations from ThreatLocker. At Zero Trust World 2025, ThreatLocker unveiled a suite of solutions designed to simplify security, enhance automation, and provide real-time insights.

For MSPs, these updates provide stronger, more streamlined security solutions that minimize risk and reduce operational overhead.

“You hear me say this a lot: Our mission is to change the paradigm of security from default allow to default-deny,” ThreatLocker CEO and Co-founder Danny Jenkins said during the Zero Trust World conference. “When we started, everyone told us it couldn’t be done, but we kept saying if it’s easy, if it’s simple, if it works, people will adopt it. Everything we do focuses on that mission — making our products easier, faster, and more secure.”

New ThreatLocker Innovations for MSPs

ThreatLocker’s latest product lineup includes:

  • ThreatLocker Insights: Provides real-time data and intelligence to make security decisions faster
  • ThreatLocker Patch Management: Automates software updates and ensures patches are tested before deployment
  • ThreatLocker User Store: Pre-approved application catalog for secure and seamless software installations
  • ThreatLocker Web Control: Built-in web access security to prevent unauthorized browsing risks
  • ThreatLocker Cloud Control: Protects Microsoft 365 environments from phishing and token theft
  • ThreatLocker Detect Dashboard: Visualizes security incidents and offers one-click incident response

Web Control and Patch Management are “fully new,” while the others were enhancements to the company’s existing offerings, ThreatLocker Chief Product Officer Rob Allen told ChannelPro.

An Immediate Response

These latest offerings aim to reduce the complexity of cybersecurity management while reinforcing a deny-by-default, allow-by-exception framework.

Some MSPs that spoke with ChannelPro during ThreatLocker Zero Trust World shared their excitement about these offerings. “After I heard the announcement, I immediately reached out to our account manager and asked for a quote to get those added,” said James San Filippo, president of Data Cube Systems in Orlando, FL. “I see an opportunity to consolidate some of our tools, maybe to get rid of some other vendors that would create some overlap. I like the fact that ThreatLocker is one platform that integrates tools together and offers Cyber Heroes, where you can offload your Tier 1 support.”

What MSPs Need to Know

1. ThreatLocker Insights: Real-Time Data for Smarter Decisions

Managing application security requires deep visibility into behaviors and potential risks. ThreatLocker Insights leverages data from millions of endpoints worldwide, enabling MSPs to quickly assess an application’s behavior and security impact. Instead of time-consuming research, this tool offers real-time intelligence, allowing faster, more informed security decisions.

2. ThreatLocker Patch Management: Safe, Tested Updates — Without the Hassle

Keeping up with software patches is a critical but time-intensive task. ThreatLocker Patch Management centralizes update management, eliminating the need to manually monitor and test patches. Updates are rigorously tested by ThreatLocker’s Cyber Hero Team before deployment, ensuring security without unexpected disruptions.

3. ThreatLocker User Store: Streamlining Software Approvals

One of the biggest challenges for MSPs is balancing security with user flexibility. The ThreatLocker User Store provides a pre-approved catalog of applications, allowing users to install necessary software without compromising security. This means fewer tickets for MSPs, less downtime for users, and a smoother Zero Trust implementation.

4. ThreatLocker Web Control: Built-in Web Access SecurityThreatLocker shares its latest innovations at Zero Trust World.

Instead of relying on third-party tools, ThreatLocker Web Control integrates directly with existing security policies to manage web access. It dynamically categorizes websites, applies security controls, and ensures compliance — without adding complexity to an MSP’s security stack.

5. ThreatLocker Cloud Control: Stopping Phishing and Token Theft

Cloud security remains a priority, especially for Microsoft 365 environments. ThreatLocker Cloud Control strengthens defenses by identifying trusted connections and blocking unauthorized access attempts. By leveraging intelligent IP and network verification, it prevents cybercriminals from exploiting stolen credentials, effectively neutralizing phishing and token theft attacks.

6. ThreatLocker Detect Dashboard: Clearer Insights, Faster Incident Response

ThreatLocker’s Detect Dashboard compiles security alerts and incidents into easy-to-understand visual reports, helping MSPs and security teams quickly assess threats and take immediate action. Integrated recommendations from the Cyber Hero team allow for one-click resolution of security events.

Why MSPs Should Pay Attention

ThreatLocker’s latest innovations emphasize efficiency, automation, and a Zero Trust-first approach — all crucial for MSPs looking to provide robust security without excessive management overhead. By reducing manual processes and improving visibility, these tools empower MSPs to scale security operations while maintaining strong cyber defenses.

“Two of these new products were ones we specifically asked for,” said Martin Bruenn, CEO and founder of Advanced Systemhaus GmbH from Germany. “We needed a categorized web filter, and ThreatLocker delivered it in a way that is far more flexible than what’s available in the market. Their structured approach allows for granular rule-setting — on a company, device, and user group level — something that isn’t as easy to manage with other solutions like firewalls.”

In fact, much of what ThreatLocker does comes from listening to its customers, said Allen. “Rather than adding complexity, we built these new solutions directly into the ThreatLocker platform — where they already trust the tools, know the portal, and don’t have to manage another agent. It’s about making security seamless, not burdensome.”

For MSPs seeking stronger, simpler, and smarter security solutions, ThreatLocker’s latest offerings provide a practical path to Zero Trust without unnecessary complexity.
