Gerasim Hovhannisyan believes email security is invaluable opportunity for managed services providers.
The CEO and co-founder of EasyDMARC recently sat down with ChannelPro to share insights on DMARC and ways IT services companies can capitalize while protecting their clients.
The modern threat landscape is punctuated by increasingly sophisticated, AI-powered BEC (business email compromise) attacks. As a result, businesses of all sizes and in all industries need to prioritize domain security and fraud monitoring capabilities.
Modern Tools
DMARC (domain-based message authentication, reporting, and conformance) is an advanced email protocol that enhances SPF (sender policy framework) and DKIM (domainkeys identified mail) by linking them to the sender’s domain and setting policies for handling authentication failures.
DMARC’s inclusion in the newest PCI Data Security Standard, version 4 (PCI DSS v4.0), will spur action this year. To achieve compliance, companies that handle credit cards and other forms of payment must implement DMARC by 2025. From there, EasyDMARC expects the global DMARC software market to exceed $1.7 billion by 2028, Hovhannisyan said.
“It’s like HTTPS,” he explained. “When Google announced that SSL would be mandatory for a website to appear in Google search results, it only took three years for adoption to jump 80%. Just as HTTPS became essential for web browsing, broad DMARC implementation will transform email authentication into a necessity for customer trust and email deliverability, making our inboxes safer.”
Key Partnerships
To ride this wave of growth and add ongoing value for clients, Hovhannisyan advised MSPs to proactively update their technology stack and forge deep strategic partnerships.
EasyDMARC was founded with the goal of making email security straightforward to implement and manage. The company’s platform simplifies email authentication while offering features like pay-as-you-go for cost efficiency, a multitenant platform for easy management, and white-label reporting to maintain brand consistency.
But one of the most impactful features – and one Hovhannisyan expressed pride in – is EasyDMARC’s low deployment time.
“When we started to work with MSPs, we heard with some say that [with similar tools,] adoption can take between 12-20 hours for each customer,” he said. “We dramatically decreased the time frame with automations. An MSP can deploy DMARC to all their customers in an hour. That could be 10 customers, it could be 100.”
Meanwhile, Hovhannisyan’s vision for the future includes universal adoption of DMARC, leading to a safer and more secure digital environment for everyone. He reiterated the urgency involved – due to both the growing cyber threat and regulatory changes. MSPs as the guardians of small and mid-sized businesses need to act quickly to enhance their email security offering or risk being left behind, he said.
