Tampa-based software provider ConnectWise announced an expansion of its ConnectWise MDR (Managed Detection and Response) platform last week, integrating support for SentinelOne’s EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) solution.
With the addition of SentinelOne, ConnectWise MDR now integrates with three leading EDR providers – Bitdefender, Microsoft, and SentinelOne. This enables IT service providers to choose the EDR that best fits their tech stack and clients’ needs while still leveraging ConnectWise’s security operations center (SOC) for around-the-clock monitoring, threat detection, and response.
In an exclusive interview with ChannelPro, ConnectWise executive vice president and general manager, cybersecurity Raffael Marty explained that his organization is MSP-focused. They carefully vet EDR partners to make sure, “they are selected based on how well suited they are for MSPs.”
Although the ConnectWise MDR platform previously existed, the integration announcement makes life easier for ConnectWise and SentinelOne customers.
“Until today, partners purchased the EDR licenses through ConnectWise. With this new announcement, partners can now bring their own SentinelOne EDR licenses and put the ConnectWise MDR service on top of them. ConnectWise MDR empowers MSPs with flexibility and optionality in closing gaps in endpoint defense,” said Marty.
The goal is to position MDR as an easy way for MSPs that serve small and mid-sized businesses to implement enterprise-grade security. The platform integrates with ConnectWise’s broader software suite, including billing, ticketing, and RMM tools, which streamlines delivery and management.
Part of the Larger Security Picture
ConnectWise’s focus is on transforming MDR by combining endpoint software with expert human oversight. In Marty’s words, “Many organizations need the insight of trained cyber professionals combined with the right EDR solution to keep up with the rapidly evolving landscape.”
The human element is key according to Marty. He emphasized the value that proactive protection brings and pointed to ConnectWise’s dedicated SOC experts and Cyber Research Unit, which work together to provide “greater levels of threat research, detection, and remediation.”
Marty also talked about MDR as one component of ConnectWise’s MSP-friendly security suite, which includes Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions, Endpoint Policy Management, Vulnerability Management, SaaS Monitoring, and Risk Assessments.
Learn More at Upcoming Events
ConnectWise will be showcasing its latest MDR capabilities at its IT Nation Connect conference this year, Nov 8-10.
“During the upcoming sessions and breakouts, attendees will discover insights into industry trends, best practices, and practical action items to inspire business growth. They will have opportunities to maximize the capabilities of the ConnectWise product suite, explore over 150 exhibitors offering services and technology, and network with well-known parties in the channel,” Marty shared.
Prior to that event, ConnectWise is the diamond sponsor for ChannelPro’s cybersecurity-focused Defend event, scheduled for Nov 1-2.
Senior leaders from ConnectWise will be front and center throughout; from the main stage, to the expo hall, and the afterhours receptions. Their team will field questions on cybersecurity, their platform, and ways they’re working to build a strong and vibrant channel community. MSPs, VARs, Technology Integrators, and IT consultants are encouraged to register and attend.
