Hosted by CyberQP, the one-day event, dubbed the “Fantastic Forum,” took place at the Marriot Dallas in Fort worth, Texas, on July 18 and was designed to help MSPs create a blueprint for success, starting off with making sure they are following the appropriate procedures with their own business.
Jimmy Hatzell (pictured), vice president of revenue at CyberQP, welcomed attendees and detailed the agenda for the day, which included an early morning run and an “Ask Me Anything” session with CyberQP CEO and Co-Founder Mateo Barraza.
Speakers included Phyllis Lee, senior director of controls at the Center for Internet Security (CIS) at SANS Institute, who talked about raising your security posture with CIS security conrols and benchmarks. She was followed by Eric Woodard, founder and CEO of Protek Support, who presented “Unlocking Security Success: Insights from Implementing CIS Controls.”
In addition, Co-Founder and COO of CyberQP, Jim Jessup, moderated a panel of MSPs who discussed how to overcome challenges, filter out all the noise, and how to find the right solutions. The panelists were Ryan Barrett from Oram Cybersecurity Advisors, Adam Evans from Simplex IT, Sandy McGrath from Final Frontier, and John Douglass from Pileus Technologies.
The day included additional presentations on zero trust, policy, selecting the components of a cybersecurity stack, and more. Attendees ended the day with a closing party at Big Shots Golf.
