Build IT LIVE ’22, an MSP educational conference hosted by master MSP IT By Design, opened on July 27 at the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson in Jersey City, N.J., with the announcement of new partnerships with N-able and Vijilan Security.
IT By Design President Kam Kaila (pictured) kicked off the three-day event by welcoming MSP attendees and vendor sponsors and stressed that “learning is our passion.” As such, the more than 40 breakout sessions cover topics that include culture, leadership, security, finance, marketing, services, human resources, sales, and strategy.
She was followed by Sunny Kaila, IT By Design CEO, who told the 500-plus attendees that the N-able partnership will allow ITBD engineers to provide a comprehensive, one-stop NOC service that includes full management of a client’s RMM. And through the Vijilan partnership, MSPs will receive a turnkey solution for detecting, analyzing, and investigating cyberattacks;. Vijilan’s Incident Response Team will engage ITBD engineers to validate, contain, eradicate, and remediate its findings too.
During his presentation, Kaila acknowleded the top channel challenges of profit, talent, and security, but given the fast-growing SMB market, he stressed that MSPs “are in the right place at the right time.”
Build IT LIVE features two keynote speakers this year: Kevin Brown, author of The Hero Effect and Unleashing Your Hero, and Profit First and Fix This Next author Mike Michalowicz, who spoke on opening day and signed books during the solutions pavilion. After the breakout sessions on Wednesday, main stage speakers include Rob Rae, Datto senior vice president of business development; John Hammond, senior security researcher at Huntress Labs; and N-able’s President John Pagliuca and CEO David Weeks.
