CompTIA has handed out its North America Spotlight Awards for 2022.
The industry trade association announced the five winners during its Communities and Councils Forum in Chicago, which concluded today. The awards recognize CompTIA members who have demonstrated leadership in the technology industry and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
This year’s winners are:
- Kris Blackmon, chief channel officer at consultancy JS Group, who received the Advancing Diversity in Technology Leadership Award for her advocacy of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the technology industry; serving as a role model; and having a positive impact on the lives and careers of others.
- Juan Fernandez (pictured second from right), CEO of MSP Growth Coalition, who won the CompTIA Industry Advisory Council Leadership Award for his outstanding service and commitment in support of the Channel Development Advisory Council’s mission and objectives.
- Dr. Georgette Fraser-Moore, CEO and president of Transformation Lead, an IT services provider headquartered in Atlanta, who was recognized with the Advancing Women in Technology Leadership Award for her advocacy of creating new opportunities for women in technology, as well as serving as a role model and making a positive impact on individuals and organizations.
- Corey Kirkendoll, CEO of Dallas-based MSP 5K Technical Services and ChannelPro‘s 2021 Peer of the Year, who was honored with the CompTIA Community Leadership Award for demonstrating outstanding commitment, leadership, passion, and professionalism in support of the objectives and initiatives of CompTIA communities, including the Managed Services Community, Cybersecurity Community, the Advancing Tech Talent and Diversity Community, and the CompTIA ISAO.
- Kyle Mills, director of channel marketing at distributor ScanSource, who received the Future Leader Award for work within a CompTIA Corporate Member organization by demonstrating success and originality as an entrepreneur and industry professional.
“These members have shown commendable commitment to the betterment of the entire industry,” said MJ Shoer, CompTIA’s chief community officer, in prepared remarks. “Our North America Spotlight Awards Winners serve as shining examples of how CompTIA’s global community of members are helping to make the world a better place.”
Increasing the global relevance and accessibility of CompTIA’s communities is one of Shoer’s top goals for 2022 in his new job, which he stepped into in January.
