MSP training company TruMethods is hosting Schnizzfest, its annual member event, this week in Orlando, Fla. Marking its 10th anniversary, this year’s Schnizzfest runs January 19 to 21 and features a new venue, the Caribe Royale Orlando hotel, and new educational tracks. TruMethods members represent the top MSPs and cloud providers in the industry.
Gary Pica (pictured), TruMethods president, addressed close to 400 attendees this morning, recapping some key trends and changes that have occurred in the industry over the past 10 years. He pointed out that there are four times more MSPs today than 10 years ago, and the industry has seen the emergence of private equity-backed roll-ups and the formation of super regionals—MSPs buying up regions. He also noted that there are more MSPs with revenue over $5 million than a decade ago.
His message was that trends come and go, but MSPs should not lose site of the business they are in.
Pica also announced a new peer mentoring group dubbed TruPeer.
The keynote speaker this morning was Andrew Tarvin, author and “humor engineer,” who teaches people how to get better results while having fun.
The two-day event also features three educational tracks for attendees: sales acceleration, business leaders, and technology success. Topics include sales and marketing assessments, lead generation, inside and outside sales process improvement, building a culture of accountability, preparing your business for future changes, and delivering process best practices.
Attendees will end the day with the Schnizz party in the evening. Tomorrow the event concludes with a half-day of educational sessions.
