Managed Services Co-Op The 20 Partners with ELO Digital Office on Enterprise Content Management

The deal gives The 20, which aspires to be an all-inclusive managed IT department to its SMB clients, one more service to sell while dramatically expanding ELO’s base of North American partners.

Managed services co-op The 20 has added enterprise content management (ECM) software from ELO Digital Office to its growing catalog of SMB technology services.

Under terms of a freshly concluded agreement, The 20’s member MSPs are set to become authorized resellers of ELOprofessional, an edition of ELO’s platform for end users with up to 250 users. They will also have access to ELO’s family of add-on business solutions, which includes specialized applications for contract management, invoice management, and HR recruiting.

An unconventional organization that resembles IT franchise organizations in some respects and peer groups in others yet ultimately fits neither mold, The 20 is a collection of independently-owned MSPs that share tools, business processes, a help desk, and a security operations center. The group aspires to be an all-inclusive “managed IT department” to end users rather than just a provider of network and endpoint assistance. Adding ECM to its portfolio gives it one more service to offer its customers while generating an incremental stream of recurring revenue.

For ELO, a European vendor still relatively new to this side of the Atlantic, partnering with The 20 dramatically expands the size of a North American channel previously limited to a handful of document management specialists. At present, The 20 has roughly 200 members.

“We are getting access to partners all around the U.S.,” says Szilvia Horvath, president and CEO of ELO Digital Office USA. “It’s a win-win situation for both of us.”

ELOprofessional, which helps businesses organize, access, and search a wide range of documents, comes with collaboration and workflow functionality, plus analytics software for deriving insights from stored files. A recently-introduced data privacy module designed specifically for the U.S. market provides security safeguards similar to those required by the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation. The solution integrates with more than 70 third-party solutions as well.

“ELOprofessional is an exceptional ECM product,” said Tim Conkle, CEO of The 20, in a press statement. “It gives our members a way to easily digitize their customers’ workplace with innovative content and document management technologies, which are easy-to-deploy, easy-to-use, and future-proof.”

ELO is currently working with The 20 on one- to two-day electronic training packages aimed at arming members to sell and support the system.

The 20’s expanding service roster covers everything from security, BDR, and VoIP to hardware-as-a-service, hosting, and regulatory compliance. The group added managed print as well as sales and support for Konica Minolta copiers last year.

More recently, The 20 disclosed plans to open what was previously a member-only conference to anyone who wishes to attend.
