ASCII IT Success Summit Goes to Canada

The two-day educational and networking event featured an agenda geared to help MSPs grow their businesses.

Toronto was host to the ASCII IT Success Summit on August 22 and 23, in what was the seventh of nine summit events in 2018. The summits bring together IT solution providers and technology vendors in a two-day format that includes extensive networking, education, and training.

The agenda is geared to help MSPs grow their business, offer additional services, help their customers transition to the cloud, and increase monthly recurring revenue opportunities.

In addition to best-practice addresses from ASCII members and thought leaders, the special guest for 2018 is Theresa Payton, former White House CIO. Payton was the first female to serve as White House chief information officer, and was named No. 4 on IFSEC Global’s list of the world’s Top 50 cybersecurity influencers in 2017.

Jerry Koutavas, president of The ASCII Group, opened the pre-day. That was followed by educational sessions on security, marketing, and and more. The day concluded with an ASCII member meeting and evening networking reception.

On Thursday, keynote speaker Bradley Gross, managing partner at the law office of Bradley Gross, P.A., discussed how MSPs can avoid legal disasters.

The Internet of Things was also on the agenda. ASCII member Tim Martin, business development manager for Action Point Software Development, presented “It’s Happening Now—How One Company is Helping MSPs Generate Recurring Revenue Using IoT.”

And fellow ASCII member Lamar Curtis, president of IAG Business Technology, presented on “Lessons From the Field: Hurricane Harvey—What MSPs May Overlook in their Business Continuity Planning.”
