CAMPBELL, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Skyhigh Networks, the world’s leading Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), today announced the appointments of Mike Mu√±oz as Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Don Dixon as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Abhay Solapurkar as Vice President of Global Support and Customer Success.
“From sales to finance to customer experience, we’re thrilled to welcome these exceptionally talented leaders to the executive team, helping us scale to further cement Skyhigh as the definitive cloud security company,” said Rajiv Gupta, co-founder and CEO, Skyhigh Networks. “Each appointment supports Skyhigh’s relentless focus on building a world-class company, delivering market-leading technology and partnering with customers to securely embrace the benefits of cloud computing.”
The additions to the executive staff will extend Skyhigh’s ability to support the increasing market demand and channel interest in Skyhigh’s industry-leading CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker) offerings. Together, Mu√±oz, Dixon and Solapurkar represent more than 75 years experience in the security and infrastructure technology space. Each has played key leadership roles in world-class companies that have shaped the way businesses leverage IT as a strategic enabler for growth:
- Mike Muñoz, SVP of Global Sales
Mu√±oz is a 25-year Silicon Valley veteran who has built and led sales teams for some of the most accomplished technology companies in the world. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer for PernixData, leading sales and go-to-market strategy through to a successful acquisition. Prior to PernixData, as Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Nimble Storage he built the sales team from the ground up, contributing to a successful IPO in 2013. He previously worked as Regional Vice President of Sales for Data Domain where he led the company’s top sales division contributing to an IPO in 2008 and a $2 billion acquisition by EMC in 2009. Mu√±oz also held sales leadership positions at Z-Force, BlueArc and NetApp.
“I recognize in Skyhigh the rare combination of a huge market opportunity and a talented team with the tools to execute on their vision,” said Munoz. “Skyhigh is a clear leader at the intersection of two rapidly growing trends: cloud and security. We are uniquely poised to seize the opportunity as the market accelerates and demand for CASB expands from early adopters to a security requirement for all companies.”
- Don Dixon, CFO
Dixon possesses more than two decades of experience guiding company growth through acquisitions, IPO and beyond. A Silicon Valley native, Dixon joins Skyhigh from Apigee Corporation (NASDAQ: APIC), where he served more than five years as the CFO and then Senior Vice president of Operations. He led the company through its successful 2014 Initial Public Offering (IPO). Prior to Apigee, Dixon held the Vice President of Finance position for Blue Coat and BEA Systems before that. He began his career at global accounting firm KPMG.
“Skyhigh touts a world-class executive team, an impressive list of Fortune 2000 customers, and investors with track records of helping build paradigm-shifting companies,” said Dixon. “I’m excited to help lead the company on the next stage of growth as it continues to be the clear market leader in the category it created.”
- Abhay Solapurkar, VP of Global Support and Customer Success
Solapurkar has established a 25-year track record of operationalizing, elevating and scaling global customer success programs at leading cloud companies. Solapurkar headed customer excellence and support at ServiceNow where he reduced incident and account escalation and spearheaded a strategic account management program, leading to an overall increase in renewal rates and customer satisfaction. He previously served as Vice President of Global Support Service for Zscaler, where he led the expansion of global support centers. Solapurkar held similar roles with Symantec, SonicWALL and Force10 networks.
“Customer delight is a mandatory prerequisite to sustain growth and scale; and our continued success as a game-changing company is directly tied to that of our customers,” said Solapurkar. “Skyhigh’s customer-obsessed culture has allowed us to establish the largest enterprise customer base in the CASB market. I look forward to helping scale the team as we continue to empower our customers worldwide to overcome cloud security barriers.”
The new leadership appointments highlight a successful 2016 for Skyhigh, which included receiving the Box Trust Partner of the Year award; securing enterprise partnership agreements with Zscaler and Dropbox; achieving FedRAMP Compliance; adding $50M of Series D funding; and being named ‘Leader’ in the first-ever Forrester Wave for Cloud Security Gateways.
