Tech Data Corp. introduced several new solutions and services to its portfolio at the company’s annual Channel Link conference, being held June 17 to 20 in Dallas. With more than 550 attendees, the event is Tech Data’s largest annual event for solution providers in the United States.
Announcements made in conjunction with Channel Link include:
The official global launch of TDCloud, powered by StreamOne, the company’s end-to-end provisioning, billing, and marketing engine. The Tech Data Cloud Solutions Store will now be available to partners in Canada, France, and the UK, and will be introduced across Europe in a phased introduction over the coming weeks. Through the Solutions Store, partners can administer and control the cloud services delivery process in an app store-like environment, as well as fully support Microsoft’s Cloud Solution Provider program.
The Microsoft Surface Hub, a team collaboration device, will be available July 1 to solution providers in the U.S. and Europe through Tech Data. The dedicated Microsoft Surface team at Tech Data can provide customized marketing programs, A/V solutions, and enablement platforms for authorized Hub resellers.†
Also, Tech Data’s dedicated Cisco team is offering enhanced value-added services and capabilities to its Unified Computing Systems (UCS), including increased systems engineering support, quicker route-to-market, and pre-integrated and customizable build-to-order (BTO) configurations.†As a recognized Cisco-authorized distributor for the Dynamic (shiploadable) rack, Tech Data’s expanded BTO capabilities allow the company to fully integrate complete infrastructure solutions prior to shipping—including rack, stack and cable.
Opening the Channel Link event, Marty Bauerlein, senior VP, U.S. Sales, Tech Data, told attendees that 30 partners attended Channel Link five years ago, and today there are more than 550 in attendance. Next up, Greg Banning, VP, SMB Sales & GM Costa Rica Operations, encouraged attendees to be passionate †about the event, stressing that all the resources they need to grow their businesses will be available at Channel Link.
Featured speakers on the first full day of the event included Tom Disantis, COO, Vantage Point; Eric Thomas, former NFL player and motivational speaker; and Cheryl Cook, VP, Global Channel and Alliances, Dell.
The Women of the Channel luncheon featured keynote speaker Sue Barsamian,†senior VP president and GM, Enterprise Group (EG) Worldwide Indirect Sales†at HP, who discussed her career and experiences.
Channel Link education tracks—designed to provide IT resellers with relevant, impactful information and best practices that result in actionable growth—include Cloud, Internet of Things, Industry Trends, and Mobility.† And attendees can also browser the vendor expo.
On Friday, HP’s Barsamian will give the keynote to the general session. And educational tracks continue throughout the day.
