Software-defined storage (SDS) solutions provider Nexenta has announced the availability of its latest Nexenta VSA for VMware Horizon View for download via Nexenta.com.
Nexenta VSA for VMware Horizon View v2.2.1 was designed to address “the storage requirements associated with deploying VMware Horizon View,” according to a company press release submitted to ChannelPro-SMB.
The latest iteration of Nexenta VSA for VMware Horizon View enables virtual desktop administrators to accelerate the performance of their desktops while providing greater density at a much lower price point. It also adds enhanced replication support and improvements to the user experience and interface.
“This provides 38x SAN offload and 72 percent increases in density,” states the Nexenta press release, “all while integrating directly with the VMware Horizon View suite and VMware features.”
Those features include the use of vStorage APIs for array integration for network file systems to accelerate deployment times.
Features & Improvements
Nexenta VSA for VMware Horizon View v2.2.1 offers such features as:
- Re-Tether—Ensures all virtual desktops (and the VSA that serves as their storage) are located on the same VMware ESXi host. Also enables users to choose between VMware vMotion and VMware Storage vMotion.
- VSA Auto-Start Policy—Reduces auto-start time for VSA and provides additional integration with the vSphere suite.
- Extended RHA Support—Backup and replicated high availability (RHA) support improves replication progress monitoring. It adds capabilities for support of bare-metal NexentaStor 4.0 as a backup and RHA appliance. It also enables the selection of a separate network interface for replication traffic and optimizes UI load time.
