Red Lion Controls, an industrial automation provider, is launching a series of compact high-voltage Ethernet switches for extreme environments. Sold via the channel, Red Lion’s N-Tron series of compact high-voltage switches provides a variety of fiber connectivity options for specific network requirements.
With up to four fiber optic ports, the new switches provide noise immunity for areas subject to high electromagnetic interference (EMI). With support for distances up to 80 km, Fiber Ethernet is ideal for wind farm, railway, and power applications.
The N-Tron high-voltage switches provide a uniform basis for the protection, connectivity and control of communications devices in harsh environments. The series is certified by KEMA Labs, a certification testing laboratory specializing in compliance with the IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards for electric utility applications such as power substations.
