N-able Technologies, a remote monitoring and management software provide, is offering a new MSP Technician Runbook at no cost to N-able partners. The MSP Technician Runbook helps business owners standardize internal processes, boost profitability, and enhance the delivery of IT services. The Runbook also serves as a basis to establish standard operating procedures for technicians, creating shorter, easier paths to complete common tasks.
In October, N-able released its first MSP Manager’s Runbook, designed to offer guidance around the foundational elements of the managed services business model, such as building and managing a network operations center (NOC). The new Technician Runbook organizes the technical best practices of an IT service provider into a digital document that will be updated in real time. According to N-able, the Runbook is meant to address the issue that most MSPs don’t have documented processes to guide their technicians.
The Runbook covers four major categories – assessments, on-boarding, optimization, and reporting – with 130 step-by-step procedures. MSP technicians can access the Runbook within the N-central dashboard with a single click, then take advantage of full search capabilities, offer comments and feedback, and bookmark preferred content.
In 2012, N-able is planning to link the Technician Runbook into N-able’s Automation Manager tool, allowing technicians to select a best practice from the Runbook, then automate that task through N-central for application across an entire customer base.
