CA’s Windows-based ARCserve D2D solution will be marketed to N-able’s network of MSPs. It will bundle the disk-to-disk remote backup technology with its flagship N-central remote network and systems management platform.

N-able Technologies has struck an OEM agreement with CA Technologies with the goal of helping MSPs “profitably meet the growing demand for complete remote IT management services,” according to an N-able press release submitted to EH Publishing.

Under the agreement, N-able will initially market and sell CA’s Windows-based ARCserve D2D solution to its more than 2,000 MSPs worldwide, bundling the disk-to-disk remote backup technology with its flagship N-central remote network and systems management platform.

“The N-central/CA ARCserve D2D bundle allows our mutual MSP partners to cost-effectively deliver comprehensive and highly robust remote management services to their customers,” explains N-able COO J.P. Jauvin.

In early 2011, N-able plans to introduce a fully integrated backup and offsite replication tool called Remote Backup Manager for N-central. The product will be based on CA ARCserve D2D and CA ARCserve Replication.

“Businesses of all types are constantly looking for better ways to manage their increasing data protection challenges,” says

Adam Famularo is general manager of CA Technologies’ recovery management and data modeling customer solutions unit. He says SMBs are looking for better ways to managing their increasing data protection challenges. “By leveraging the combined solutions of CA Technologies and N-able,” he says, “MSPs will be better able to help their customers meet these challenges, helping them to grow market share, revenue and profits.”

To expedite adoption of the bundle, N-able is extending a special offer to MSP. The offer provides CA ARCserve D2D technology for free between October 1 and December 31, 2010 to any MSP or IT department that downloads the N-central 30-day trial. “The disk-to-disk backup that CA Technologies has developed delivers compelling economics for MSPs and is becoming a must-have for those partners that want to capture the expanding market for on-demand, turnkey IT management,” says Jauvin.

Availability CA’s ARCserve D2D product is available now from N-able Technologies. N-able’s Remote Backup Manager will be made available in early 2011. All remote backup offerings are being sold exclusively as an “add-on” to existing or new N-central 7.0 NSM software platform licenses and are designed to complement N-able’s Endpoint Security Manager solution. †
