Tripp Lite has added a range of USB 3.0 Super Speed Cables to its offerings. The manufacturer announced the new cables this week, saying they “enable users to take advantage of the performance enhancements offered by computers and peripheral devices with USB 3.0 capabilities.”

The Super Speed Cables employ a bi-directional data interface for improved transfer rates. “These new cables provide significantly faster data transfer rates over USB 2.0 technology,” Tripp Lite states in a press release submitted to EH Publishing.

The technology also improves power efficiency.

“USB 3.0 Super Speed is the new standard of the IT industry,” explains Tripp Lite product manager David Posner. “As new computers and other devices incorporate this technology, Tripp Lite’s new line of Super Speed connectivity solutions will enable users to take full advantage of the much higher data transfer rates and improved power efficiency.”

Tripp Lite’s line of USB 3.0 Super Speed Cables now includes:

  • U322-Series Device Cable (A Male to B Male in 3-, 6-, 10-, and 15-foot lengths)
  • U326-Series Device Cable (A Male to Micro-B Male in 3-, 6-, and 10-foot lengths)
  • U324-Series Extension Cables (A Male to A Female in 6- and 10-foot lengths)

The features of these cables include:

  • 5 Gbps Signaling Rate–This provides up to ten times faster data transfer compared to USB 2.0
  • Optimized Power Efficiency–This means zero device polling as well as lower active and idle power requirements
  • Backward Compatibility–The cables are interoperable with USB 2.0 platforms and legacy devices
