N-able Announces General Availability of N-compass 3.1
Developer makes the announcement during CompTIA Breakaway 2010. N-compass 3.1 adds support for the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 databases and reporting platforms.
N-able chose the CompTIA Breakaway 2010 forum to announce the general availability of N-compass 3.1 this week.
The latest iteration of the N-compass IT performance reporting software adds support for the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 databases and reporting platforms.
“These new features enable users to create a comprehensive environment for authoring, managing, and delivering critical IT performance reports that clearly demonstrate the value and performance of IT services to SMBs,” states N-able in a press release submitted to EH Publishing.
The N-compass software is designed to provide MSPs and IT administrators with a means for gathering and communicating vital IT and business information, from networking availability and reliability to regulatory compliance and asset reporting.
A new freeform custom report-authoring tool within N-compass is made possible by support for Microsoft Report Builder 2.0.
This and other features makes it possible for MSPs to “maintain and increase service levels, better plan customer IT investment, and differentiate their service offering in the market,” according to N-able’s president and CEO Gavin Garbutt.
“In order to win business and earn loyalty, MSPs must demonstrate the business value of their services and communicate technical information and overall performance effectively to customers and prospects,” Garbutt adds. “N-compass not only helps our partners to conduct initial network assessments, trial programs, and meetings with clients, but it also makes it easy to explain IT infrastructure metrics by distilling the information and presenting it clearly and concisely.”
An extensive library of 25 pre-built reports further enables MSPs, providing a framework for “quickly and effectively communicating network and systems information,” the N-able press release states.
N-compass operates independently via its own offline database. It also integrates with N-able’s N-central RMM platform.
Other features of N-compass 3.1 include:
- Improved reporting on router/switch utilization metrics for CPUs, memory, and disks
- Enhancements to the pre-built reports increased numbers of reporting-use scenarios.
N-compass 3.1 is available now for purchase or as a free upgrade to existing N-able channel partners holding an N-compass license and an up-to-date maintenance and support account.
