PowerAlert Software from Tripp Lite Adds “Economy Mode” Capability
Users can boost the efficiency of their UPS systems to reduce power consumption and heat.
Chicago-based Tripp Lite has included an “economy mode” function in the newest version of its PowerAlert software, enabling users to maximize the efficiency of their UPS systems. PowerAlert helps reduce power consumption and decreases the level of heat produced in network closets and data centers, leading to savings in cooling and energy costs.
Key features and benefits include:
- Allows IT personnel to manage the energy-saving economy mode settings of Tripp Lite SmartOnline UPS systems in real time or through defined schedules
- Boosts the efficiency of an online UPS system rating up to 97 percent in economy mode
- Does not require that the user be onsite-it can be programmed remotely
- Provides energy efficiency and cost savings for both large data center installations and smaller SOHO applications
“Tripp Lite has long been an advocate of the ‘green’ philosophy and has instituted eco-friendly policies in both the design and manufacture of our products,” says David Slotten, Tripp Lite Director of Product Management. “This new ‘economy mode’ functionality of our PowerAlert software is yet another example of our desire to be environmentally conscious while providing customers with a quality product and an opportunity to cut their operating expenses.”
