NETGEAR Inc., a manufacturer of computer networking equipment, has introduced three new products offering higher throughput and new capabilities for improved network performance in businesses and education facilities. These new scalable offerings for wireless access management, switching, and storage in higher-density environments include the ProSAFE M6100 Chassis Series, ProSAFE WC9500 Premium Wireless Controller, and ReadyNAS 3130 Series Network Attached Storage.
The ProSAFE M6100 Chassis Series is a high-density chassis alternative to stackable switches for businesses. The chassis series consists of a Gigabit access layer and 10 Gigabit distribution layer switches in a 4U footprint. With more than 1.4 Tbps switching and routing capacity, passive backplane, full management and fabric nonstop forwarding redundancy, the M6100 Series boasts world-class resiliency and scalability. Its operating software and system management features are designed to take the complexity out of delivering L2/L3/L4-rich services for enterprise edge and SMB core deployments.
The M6100 Chassis Series offers multiple port combinations, with up to 144-port Gigabit or 72-port 10 Gigabit ports. NETGEAR is offering a ProSAFE M6100 Starter Kit (XCM8903SK-10000S) comprising of the essentials for a ready-made, turnkey solution:
- 1 M6100-3S base chassis (XCM8903)
- 1 blade 40x1G + 4x10G (XCM8944)
- 1 PoE+ daughter card (XCM89P)
- 1 power supply unit (APS1000W)
- 1 fan tray front to back (AFT603)
- Rack-mount kit (with handles) for 2-post racks and wiring cabinets

The ProSAFE M6100 Chassis Series Starter Kit is available now at an MSRP in the U.S. of $7,990.
ProSAFE WC9500 Premium Wireless Controller
The ProSAFE WC9500 Wireless Controller is a fully-featured, high performance wireless controller that manages the complete NETGEAR line of eight (8) ProSAFE Managed Access Points, including single-band and dual-band. The wireless controller is a scalable, secure mobile access solution that can support a growing organization with dozens of users, with up to several thousand concurrent clients across 600 access points in a stacked arrangement of three controllers.
With its Ufast protocol, the WC9500 delivers ultra-fast access point discovery, Layer 2 and Layer 3 fast roaming, a captive portal for guest access, a fully distributed architecture, and ease of configuration and dynamic RF management in dense environments.
The WC9500 is now available at an MSRP of $5,999 in the U.S. A 10-access point license is available for an MSRP of $1,056.
ReadyNAS 3130 Series Network Attached Storage
The NETGEAR ReadyNAS product line of network attached storage offers businesses an easy-to-use solution for centralizing, securing, and controlling access to digital assets. ReadyNAS 3130 Series pairs the latest in performance with the ReadyNAS operating system (OS 6.2) that features industry-first technology in 5 levels of complete data protection, backup, sync, and cloud-based management. It also offers efficiency technologies such as unlimited snapshots, thin provisioning, and cloud-managed replication for reducing data loss.
The new four-bay ReadyNAS 3130 with four Gigabit Ethernet ports has a 1U form factor for easy rack deployment. It has a capacity up to 24 TB of storage for supporting up to 200 simultaneous users. With its new CPU, ReadyNAS 3130 is virtualization-ready with iSCSI support, thin provisioning capability, and interoperability with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.
ReadyNAS 3130 is available diskless (RN3130) or populated with four 2TB drives (RN31342E). The new diskless edition of RN3130 is available now at an MSRP of $1,499 in the U.S.
