Cloudli Connect Targets ‘Underserved’ SMB Market

Enterprise-grade voice and data services are coming to U.S. SMB customers. Here’s why that matters to your MSP.

Many workers in today’s digital landscape feel like they spend half of their lives on Zoom or Microsoft Teams. But there are times when a simple phone call is necessary.

Montreal-based Cloudli Communications recognizes this need. As a result, the company has extended its enterprise-grade Cloudli Connect voice and data services to U.S. SMB customers, exclusively through channel partners.

Addressing the Needs of MSPs and SMBs

Cloudli Connect is designed with the specific needs of MSPs’ SMB clients.

Unlike many vendors that focus on adding features to boost revenue, Cloudli emphasizes core communication needs. The company prioritizes “core calling and communication needs rather than esoteric features customers will never use,” said Nicholas Clapper, Cloudli vice president of product.


Key Features of Cloudli Connect

  • Unlimited inbound and local calling, texting options, customizable plans, and work-from-anywhere cloud-based apps.
  • API integrations to enhance functionality.
  • Flexibility to add functions such as faxing, texting, virtual extensions, and integration with Microsoft Teams and Call Center solutions.
  • All features accessible from Cloudli’s partner administration portal, making it easy for MSPs to manage.

The platform’s flexibility is a strong point, according to Danny Palleschi, sales manager at Toronto-based Versanet Solutions. “The core offering includes the key features that my small business customers need. They can augment that with enhanced features and extensions to [meet] their personalized specification.”

Market Insights and Opportunities

Cloudli expansion into the U.S. market is timely. That’s because SMBs often are underserved in terms of voice-centric communications, Clapper said.

“Partners are now realizing that there is a gap between what other cloud communications providers offer and what their SMB clients need,” Clapper noted. “We’re dedicated to [fulfilling that need] with the communications solutions they want.”

An Easy Sell

Cloudli Connect is designed to be user-friendly as well as simple for MSPs to sell and support. It’s an ideal addition to their menu of offerings, according to Clapper. “We make it easy to serve the SMB, which helps our partners serve more customers efficiently.”

For Palleschi’s customers, the simplicity and the ability to add features as needed are big selling points, he said. “For my customers, the most important element of their voice system is that it is easy to use and that it works. With Cloudli, I can provide both.”

Versatility in Communication Needs

The Cloudli Connect platform can complement existing video communication platforms, integrating seamlessly where needed, Clapper highlighted. Plus, businesses that don’t need Teams or Zoom still get a solution that addresses all their communication needs at a competitive price, he said.

Cloudli Connect meets the diverse needs of Versanet Solutions customers, from basic services to advanced unified communications, Palleschi concluded.  “At the end of the day, customers still need dial tone, and that’s what Cloudli provides — the voice, apps, and voicemail-to-email.”
